Look At These Vegetarian Numbers, The Enormous Amount of Resources

Author: James Johnson

Most of the non-vegetarians (meat eaters) and vegetarians are starting to ask the question of is it really doing any good being a vegetarian. The vegans spout fuzzy ethical reasons to make a little impossible to look at a vegetarian as being ethical. If you are thinking about becoming a vegetarian for the ethical reasons, but you are having a hard time making up your mind, then here are some numbers for you to take in.

A) The livestock in the United States makes about 29 times more excrement than all of people in the U.S. The U.S. has sewage systems to treat all of the human waste, but not the livestock.

B) To get 2 pounds of consumable pork protein, you will need to feed that pig about 15 pounds of feed protein.

C) With all of the grain and soybeans that is feed to the livestock in the U.S. you could feed all of the people in the U.S. and still have enough afterward to feed some .9 billion more.

There is an enormous amount of resources being put to use to make wheat and soy just for feeding of animals for the slaughtering for the meat and you only get about 20% of that back in protein.

Meat production is considered as a injustice against the animals and as well as the environment. It can be said that a lot of things are being wasted just for meat production. So, what do you think of these statistics, are you a still a prospective vegetarian?
